Altar Hanging | Jelling Art Style : Community

US$127.00

An altar hanging made of sustainably sourced materials including jawbone, single spun cotton, glass beads and driftwood.

The hand-painted art style is crafted in the Jelling art style found in the Jelling monument site in Denmark and is dated around the 10th century. Artisans used this stylization for approximately 80 years, and is characterized by animal motifs and ribbon-like patterns that intertwine.

I've crafted this with the intention of togetherness, community/kindred & of hanging on and holding the line.

The bone jaw is nature-cleaned, and is approx 14" long x 2" deep.
